Asia Pacific News

Dec 2006

South-East Asia and Hong Kong Edition

Dear Customer,

It gives me utmost pleasure to be writing to you for the first time as your new Account Development Manager. I hope to be able to upkeep the wonderful job that my predecessor has done in delivering the latest Elsevier news to your inbox every bi-monthly.

Hohoho! Just tell us what you hope for in All I want for Christmas Library Connect Seminar is... and stand to win prizes. And here's more goodies. As part the 50th anniversary celebration for New Scientist magazine, it will be available on ScienceDirect at no charge till end of 2006!

Now, ever considered what one billion means to you? For example, do you know how many elephants it takes to weigh as much as one billion mice?  This month, ScienceDirect achieves one billionth download. We would like to thank you for helping us achieve this milestone.

It has just got simpler to create a Scopus HTML feed on your homepage - there is no better time if you have not done so.  Also, with the new Scopus PatentCites and WebCites, you can now find out, in just one search, the influence of article on patent and web literatures too.

As part of our Scopus promotion activity, the Student Ambassador Programme was created to educate and promote to users. Read about this highly effective method of promoting databases to users and let us know if you think this can work in your institution.

We hope to continue to hear from you. Do drop me a mail at Am.Tan@elsevier.com

Till next year.

Warmest regards,

Amber Tan

Account Development Manager
