Dear Customer,
A very happy 2007 to all of you. The new
year brings an exciting start to Australia and New Zealand, with a
number of key seminars and conferences.
In January, Elsevier will be
participating in Information Online in Sydney, Australia. There are
many exciting activities lined up for all the delegates that drop by
our booth!
The first ever Elsevier Bibliometrics
Seminar will be held in Sydney, Australia, on 2nd February. The
seminar serves as a platform for addressing the issue of new bibliometric indicators, and also the importance of synergising the
traditional and the new technologies of bibliometric analysis.
Elsevier would also like to congratulate
the 2006 Nobel Laureates. As part of our annual tribute we have made
the full text of all the Laureates' Elsevier articles freely
available.
Scopus continues to
provide users with value-added services, functions and content to
enrich the
users' experience. Scopus® has signed strategic content deals with a
string of publishers and societies including Springer, the Nature
Publishing Group, the American Physical Society, and the American
Institute of Physics, to add 7 million records from these
publishers in addition to Elsevier to complement and enrich the
existing, 15 million pre-1996 records.
Scopus has also recently provided a new version of the
HTML Feeds and this feature has proved to be useful in promoting the
use of Scopus in participating institutions.
As a new initiative in 2007, we hope to
conduct scheduled online training sessions for Scopus and
ScienceDirect. These sessions will be suited to local Australia
and New Zealand times and is catered for your key users. If you are
interested to find out more about this, please email me at
dl.chng@elsevier.com.
We hope that you will find this issue
useful and we look forward to receiving your stories and experiences
too. Do send them to
dl.chng@elsevier.com.
We look forward to hearing your feedback
and meeting you at the events.
Thank you.
Best regards,
