Dear Customer,
With 2004 drawing to a close it’s an opportunity for us to look back
at the events of the year. It’s certainly been a busy and interesting
year for the Elsevier Singapore offices. Importantly we have had the
chance to meet nearly all of our customers at the different Library
Connect Events held across the Asia Pacific region.
With the aim of always putting the customer first, we have worked on
strengthening our customer communication channels, such as the Asia
Pacific newsletters, the local Asia Pacific websites, emails , direct
mail campaigns and more. Likewise we have put greater emphasis on
localizing materials for different countries to ensure effective
communication with customers. We have also attended a number of
conferences and exhibitions across the region and recently organized a
series of Publisher Seminars in Greater China, providing a series of
talks to faculty and students on Elsevier’s role as a publisher and
the steps new authors can take to get published.
With 2005 in mind we are already beginning to plan our new series of
activities for our customers. We are also very excited about the
launch of Scopus, our new all science search and navigation tool, that
apart from being the world’s biggest bibliographic database, offers
powerful and innovative search and browse facilities across over
14,000 titles from 4,000 publishers. We look forward to being able to
share more information with you about this and other new products in
the New Year.
We wish you and your families a very pleasant and enjoyable holiday
season.
With best wishes
Ms Alex Lankester
